About the position
We are seeking an Energy Storage and Renewables Trading Analyst to join our team in Boulder, CO. As part of the SmartBidder Team, you will be responsible for performing leading-edge decision analysis for battery, renewable, and hybrid project development and operations. This role requires excellent quantitative analytical skills, as well as a passion for renewables and the clean energy transition. A bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, or a highly quantitative discipline is required, with an advanced degree preferred. Prior experience in the energy industry and knowledge of deregulated power market operations is also preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative analysis and collaborate with team members
- Develop new approaches to represent results for decision analysis
- Create reports and presentations that assimilate complex information for internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct in-depth analysis of power market operations
- Provide expertise in analytic modeling for asset revenue optimization, risk management, and bidding strategy formation
- Serve as a technical resource for scoping, building, deploying, and launching activities
- Provide clients with on-site and web-based software training
- Utilize Python or other software tools to gather actionable intelligence from large datasets
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prioritize multiple assignments and problem-solve with minimal supervision
- Display excellent organizational skills and professional presentation
- Show passion for renewables, climate issues, and the clean energy transition
- Hold a bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, or other highly quantitative discipline (advanced degree preferred)
- Preferably have energy industry experience, including knowledge of deregulated power market operations nationally and/or internationally
