Endodontic Dental Assistant
About The Position
Winston-Salem Dental Specialists is seeking an Endodontic Dental Assistant to support endodontic procedures and provide patient care. The role includes chairside assistance during root canals, retreatments, apicoectomies, and other endodontic procedures; preparing and cleaning operatories; taking digital radiographs and CBCT scans; assisting with dental microscopes and ultrasonic units; sterilizing instruments; and maintaining infection control protocols. The assistant also helps patients feel comfortable and informed, assists with sedation monitoring as needed, maintains patient records, and coordinates with referring offices. Requirements
- Dental assisting experience required.
- Current North Carolina X-ray certification or ability to obtain it.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Comfort with digital radiography and CBCT imaging.
Nice To Haves
- Endodontic experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during root canals, retreatments, apicoectomies, and other endodontic procedures.
- Set up and break down operatories using endodontic instruments and materials.
- Take and process digital radiographs and CBCT scans.
- Assist with the dental microscope and ultrasonic units.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols.
- Provide patient comfort and education, especially for anxious patients.
- Assist with sedation monitoring as needed.
- Maintain patient records and coordinate with referring offices.
