About The Position
The Arrow EMT responds to emergency and non-emergency ambulance requests and completes assigned daily and weekly duties during work hours, including cleaning ambulances and equipment. The role provides immediate care to ill and injured people, helps maintain ambulance readiness, communicates crew and vehicle positions, and transports patients in a wheelchair van when needed.
Requirements
- Illinois Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license upon hire.
- Driver’s license upon hire.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 200 certification within 6 months.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 700 certification within 6 months.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 800 certification within 6 months.
- Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification within 6 months.
- Emergency Response to Terrorism (ERT) Certification within 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and provide efficient, immediate care to ill and injured people.
- Check and monitor ambulance readiness.
- Clearly communicate crew and vehicle position at all times.
- Clean ambulances, utility vehicles, and crew quarters daily.
- Provide direction to EMTs while on ambulance calls.
- Transport patients in a wheelchair van when needed.
