About The Position
The Arrow EMT responds to emergency and non-emergency ambulance requests and completes assigned daily and weekly duties during work hours, including cleaning ambulances and equipment. The role provides care to ill and injured people, helps maintain ambulance readiness, communicates crew and vehicle positions, and may transport patients in a wheelchair van.
Requirements
- Illinois Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license upon hire.
- Driver’s license upon hire.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 200 within 6 months.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 700 within 6 months.
- National Incident Management System (NIMS) 800 within 6 months.
- Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification within 6 months.
- Emergency Response to Terrorism (ERT) Certification within 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and provide efficient, immediate care to ill and injured people.
- Check and monitor ambulance readiness.
- Clearly communicate crew and vehicle position at all times.
- Clean ambulances, utility vehicles, and crew quarters daily.
- Provide direction to EMTs while on ambulance calls.
- Transport patients in a wheelchair van when needed.
