About The Position

WAAS will be offering a blended (online + in-person) class for those wishing to pursue their Emergency Medical Technician certification. The course will start on August 25th and run through December 1st, 2026. Learning will primarily take place online with mandatory in-person skills lab sessions on Tuesdays from 5-9:30pm. Patient contacts are an essential part of the course, and students will register for ride-along slots that occur outside of class time.

Requirements

A valid American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR card (which must remain valid for the duration of class).
Reliable access to the internet and a laptop computer.
Must be 18 years old by December 1, 2026.

Nice To Haves

Online learning is not a fit for all learners.
There is a lot of information to cover in a short amount of time.
In-person sessions are for skills, but you are responsible for learning the material beforehand.

Responsibilities

Attend ALL skills lab sessions.
Login to MyBRADY a minimum of 3x/week.
Submit all required assignments prior to participating in that week's skills lab.
Take responsibility for your own learning; be a self-starter to complete this course.
Learn the material beforehand for in-person sessions.
Register for patient contact ride-along slots outside of class time.
