About The Position

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT), a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit, is hiring PRN EMT-Basic employees for its Quad Cities market, based in Milan, Illinois. EMTs provide patient care during emergency responses, interfacility transports, and standby events. Employees work 12-hour shifts in the Quad City area and are expected to work 24 hours each month to remain in good standing.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current Illinois EMT license.
Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
Valid Illinois driver's license.
Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds, subject to physical examination.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in a stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in an emergency care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care.
Provide emergency care using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Document patient information, condition, and treatment.
Maintain patient confidentiality and respect patient rights while providing care.
Transport patients in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment according to vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements.
Operate and drive an ambulance in accordance with applicable safety policies and laws.
Assist paramedics in advanced life support situations.
Maintain current certifications according to governing licensure provisions.
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Present and promote a positive company image.
