About The Position

Creates, builds, and maintains relationships with local EMS/Fire/Transport agencies, educating on the unique level of care and services UMC provides. Serves as a liaison between UMC and local services. Promotes UMC through outreach initiatives at EMS offices by communicating services and programs, identifying and analyzing EMS providers' needs, and making recommendations to achieve business goals and strategic plans. Provides clinical outreach support for community events and lends expertise to the physician outreach team. Serves as a member of the Patient Experience outreach team.

Requirements

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in science, healthcare administration, marketing, communications, or related field.
Five (5) years of active, hands-on clinical experience in an Emergency Department (ED), Critical Care Unit (ICU), or a busy pre-hospital EMS system.
Knowledge of pre-hospital and emergency care, marketing principles, adult learning theory, public relations practices, sales techniques, healthcare policies, clinical information/processes, medical terminology, physician office/practice management, customer services strategies, media relations, hospital operations and administration, department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age-specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
Skill in developing, implementing and coordinating pre-hospital and emergency department specific processes with EMS providers.
Skill in producing and editing effective written and graphic materials.
Skill in preparing clear, concise and effective outreach materials including brochures, reports, correspondence and other written materials.
Skill in organizing work, setting priorities and meeting critical deadlines.
Skill in using initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
Skill in analyzing data and arriving at sound conclusions.
Skill in conducting effective presentations to large and small groups.
Skill in using computers and related software applications.
Skill in communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties.
Skill in efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Knowledge of department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age-specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.
