EMS Dispatcher
About The Position
The EMS Dispatcher performs dispatch duties and related assigned work. The employee must complete initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties specified in the job description and the unit/department-specific competency checklist. The role includes maintaining required education, providing positive customer service, supporting quality improvement, following organizational and departmental policies, and working in accordance with departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, which may include overtime, various shifts, and on-call situations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years of related experience.
- No certification, competency, or license required.
- Demonstrate competency through initial orientation and ongoing competency validation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and document all applicable required education.
- Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
- Comply with the company's attendance policy.
- Participate in the department’s and institution’s continuous quality improvement activities.
- Perform work in a cost-effective manner.
- Follow departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations.
- Perform work in alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic plan.
- Follow applicable organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Complete initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to perform assigned tasks and duties independently.
