About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an EMR Engineer II to join its Asset Management Team in Albany, NY. The role supports asset reliability initiatives by evaluating equipment information, developing maintenance strategies, and helping clients turn complex data into practical action. The engineer contributes to asset management and equipment reliability programs, prepares engineering and maintenance documentation under senior engineers’ guidance, and supports field assignments to assess equipment and collect asset data. The work helps clients improve equipment reliability, extend asset life, reduce unplanned downtime, and support facility decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience.
• Strong theoretical knowledge and willingness to learn within the engineering discipline.
• Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and engineering software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including data management and spreadsheet experience.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Participation in professional engineering societies or organizations.
• Experience with engineering software such as Blue Mountain RAM, SAP, or IBM Maximo.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, analysis, and development of asset management and equipment reliability programs.
• Assist with engineering calculations, technical reports, maintenance documentation, equipment records, and cost comparisons under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Evaluate technical and equipment information, identify discrepancies, and help develop practical solutions aligned with client goals and operational requirements.
• Develop familiarity with applicable regulations and firm and client standards.
• Participate in field assignments to assess existing equipment conditions, collect asset data, support facility improvements, and help minimize interference with ongoing operations.
