About The Position
The Employment Support Professional (ESP) provides personalized job support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), promoting their safety and well-being while helping them develop skills for competitive employment. The role supports individuals in working more independently and achieving their workplace goals. The position is based at the Derby Office in Derby, Vermont, and is listed as full-time/part-time. Northeast Kingdom Human Services is a nonprofit organization providing community mental health and related services in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. It serves Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties and has more than 500 employees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle insurance.
- Maintain a reliable, safe, inspected, and registered vehicle for required transportation, in accordance with agency policies.

Responsibilities
- Transport consumers to and from work.
- Develop rapport with individuals to cultivate a safe and supportive working relationship.
- Help individuals understand and overcome social and emotional issues.
- Provide skill-building techniques and develop and enhance supports so individuals can reduce their dependency on agency services as much as possible.
- Assist and support individuals in developing natural supports at work sites.
- Provide transportation using a reliable, safe, inspected, and registered vehicle, in accordance with agency policies.
