EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
About The Position
The Employment Support Professional (ESP) provides personalized job support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting their safety, well-being, skill development, and success in competitive employment. The role supports individuals in becoming more independent at work and helps them develop natural supports at their worksites. Northeast Kingdom Human Services (NKHS) is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization and a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont. It provides community mental health and related services to residents of Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties. NKHS has over 500 employees and serves nearly 4,000 community members annually.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Appropriate vehicle insurance.
- Provide a reliable, safe, inspected, and registered vehicle for required transportation.

Responsibilities
- Transport consumers to and from work.
- Build rapport with individuals to cultivate a safe and supportive working relationship.
- Assist individuals in understanding and overcoming social and emotional issues.
- Provide skill-building techniques and develop and enhance supports to help consumers decrease their dependency on agency services as much as possible.
- Assist and support individuals in developing natural supports at work sites.
- Provide transportation using a reliable, safe, inspected, and registered vehicle in accordance with agency policies.
