About The Position

Opportunities for Positive Growth (OPG) is seeking a full-time Employment Specialist to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities identify career goals, find competitive employment, and succeed in the workplace. OPG is a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP) and a 14-time Indiana Top Workplace.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license with a properly maintained vehicle and current auto insurance
• MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to walk, bend, squat, kneel, and use wrists, shoulders, and both hands as needed to perform CPR, first aid, and personal care/lifting techniques
• Ability to successfully complete and administer CPR and First Aid
• Proof of a negative TB screening required
• Ability to pass required background checks and other agency screening requirements as applicable

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities in community-integrated settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in identifying career interests and strengths
• Assist with job search, placement, and onboarding
• Teach job tasks and workplace skills
• Provide on-site job coaching and support
• Build relationships with employers
• Gradually fade supports as independence increases
