About The Position

We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Employment Specialist/Job Developer to help individuals with disabilities discover their strengths, secure competitive employment, and build long-term success in the workplace. If you enjoy networking, building community partnerships, and helping people reach their goals — this is the role for you. This role blends job development, career coaching, advocacy, and case coordination.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends
  • Ability to pass background and driving record checks

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social services, education, behavioral health, rehabilitation, human resources, marketing, or related field
  • Experience in case management, employment services, sales, recruiting, HR, or workforce development
  • Knowledge of disability services and community resources
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable reaching out to employers and building new partnerships
  • Organized and able to manage multiple clients and deadlines
  • Strong communicator — confident with clients, families, employers, and funders
  • Creative problem-solver who can think strategically
  • Motivated by outcomes and long-term client success

Responsibilities

  • Developing individualized employment plans based on client strengths and goals
  • Building relationships with local employers and community partners
  • Identifying job opportunities and matching candidates to positions
  • Supporting job placement, retention, and long-term success
  • Educating employers about disability inclusion and workplace accommodations
  • Maintaining knowledge of assistive technology and workplace supports
  • Reviewing vocational, medical, educational, and psychological information to guide planning
  • Conducting client orientations and weekly one-on-one goal meetings
  • Participating in team planning meetings
  • Completing documentation in compliance with program and funding guidelines
