WorkOSSan Francisco, CA
$150,000 - $175,000Onsite

About The Position

WorkOS is seeking an Employee Programs Lead to be based in their San Francisco office. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of new hire onboarding, designing and implementing programs to accelerate productivity and understanding of company culture. The lead will also design and facilitate in-person programming for both SF-based and distributed teams, and develop lightweight tools to track program effectiveness. Additionally, the role involves partnering with leadership to build scalable training programs, designing and facilitating new manager training, and owning employee growth and upskilling initiatives. A key aspect of the role is the ability to confidently facilitate large group sessions and utilize AI-forward, no-code tools to automate tracking and content distribution.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in internal events, employee experience, learning & development or People programs at a high growth startup
  • Exceptional communicator, both written and verbal
  • Confident public speaker and experienced facilitator: can run sessions for large or mixed-seniority groups and hold a room
  • Experience building new manager or leadership training programs
  • Strong operational instincts and excellent project management skills
  • Care deeply about creating memorable employee experiences
  • Think in systems and continuously improve programs based on feedback
  • This is an in-person role, alongside building community

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end design of new hire onboarding, including in-person programming in our SF office (e.g. culture and communication) and support individual team onsites (twice annually per team)
  • Build structured onboarding curriculum covering role ramp-up, cross-functional context, roadmap understanding, and how decisions get made
  • Measure onboarding effectiveness (time to productivity, ramp feedback, manager input) and iterate each cohort
  • Collaborate with our operations team to contribute content and programming for company-wide offsites
  • Design and facilitate a new manager training program covering core management skills and how management works here specifically
  • Own personal growth and upskilling programs for employees who need targeted skill development: identify gaps, build or source training, track progress
  • Partner with managers and leadership to spot where upskilling closes a real performance or capability gap
  • Confidently facilitate large-group sessions, comfortable running a room for onboarding cohorts, manager training, or team onsites, not just designing the content
  • Use AI-forward, no-code tools to build lightweight internal tools that track ramp progress and distribute onboarding content automatically, reducing manual, one-off work
