About The Position

This role is for an organized HR professional who excels at managing people, processes, and timelines. The ideal candidate has experience leading initiatives, coordinating events and projects, creating communications, and turning ideas into action. This position focuses on managing employee experience programs, building relationships, and creating experiences that foster a sense of welcome, recognition, inclusion, and connection among employees. The role involves using project management, communication, and organizational skills to deliver organizational culture and diversity programs throughout the employee lifecycle. Experience in project leadership, coordinating team initiatives, process improvement, and preparing communications are highly transferable to this role. The position is within a team committed to providing excellent service to WSECU employees, enabling them to focus on serving members. The day-to-day activities include administering company-wide culture programs such as employee rewards and recognition, culture events, WSECU’s branded workwear, and diversity and inclusion (D&I) efforts. It also involves planning, coordinating, and implementing D&I programs aligned with the organization's strategy, serving as a subject matter expert for D&I training, presenting D&I segments in orientations, coordinating the D&I calendar and communications, supporting Employee Resource Groups, and partnering with talent acquisition on the Affirmative Action program. Collaboration with PCS leaders and partners is key for delivering employee engagement events and programs, including the annual all-staff recognition event and the employee rewards and recognition platform. The role also requires recommending program improvements based on feedback and trends, creating assets for culture and diversity programs, and supporting the PCS team with administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business administration, communications, or a closely related field. Related experience may be substituted year-for-year for academic achievement and must demonstrate experience coordinating projects, managing details and timelines, and producing employee-facing communications
  • Five years of experience in Human Resources, project management, organizational development, employee experience/engagement, communications, or a related field working on culture initiatives
  • Understanding of the employee lifecycle and human resources processes and concepts including, but not limited to talent acquisition, employee experience and diversity and inclusion
  • High degree of cultural competence, interpersonal skills and logical reasoning skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience preparing clear, polished communications, presentations and program materials that engage diverse audiences and make complex information easy to understand
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams and Microsoft forms
  • Knowledge of and experience with diversity and inclusion concepts
  • Demonstrated project and/or event management experience which may include leading team initiatives, organizing workplans, tracking timelines and deliverables, coordinating cross-functional team members and following through on details
  • Well-developed and tactful interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear messages, edit for tone and accuracy, and tailor communications to different audiences
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with discretion
  • Ability to work under pressure while consistently producing accurate work
  • Business writing experience, including drafting clear communications, summaries instructions or other materials for internal audiences, and comfort presenting to or training small and large groups in a professional presentation environment
  • Ability to interact with and build productive working relationships with coworkers at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent conceptual, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be highly self-directed, flexible, and collaborative

Responsibilities

  • Administering company-wide culture programs, including employee rewards and recognition, culture events, WSECU’s branded workwear, and employee diversity and including (D&I) efforts
  • Planning, coordinating and implementing diversity inclusion programs available to all employees and aligned with our strategy and goals, including: Serving as a subject matter resource to support D&I training for employees, leaders, and board members
  • Presenting the D&I segments of New Employee and Leader Orientations
  • Coordinating D&I Calendar and related employee communications
  • Supporting WSECU’s Employee Resource Groups
  • Partnering with talent acquisition to report progress and act upon the organization’s Affirmative Action program and goals
  • Partnering with PCS leaders and key partners to communicate and deliver employee engagement events, programs, and projects, including our annual all-staff recognition event, employee rewards and recognition platform and programs, holidays and seasonal events, and more
  • Recommending improvements to existing programs or new culture initiatives based on survey feedback, observations, and industry trends
  • Creating and designing assets for culture and diversity programs and events, such as lookbooks, infographics, slide decks, and intranet banners
  • Supporting the PCS team by maintaining the PCS Team site, answering phone calls and emails, greeting department visitors, participating in team meetings, and building strong working relationships across WSECU
