About The Position

Holmes Murphy is hiring an Employee Benefits Finance Intern for its 10-week Summer 2027 internship program in Minneapolis, Minnesota, or Dallas, Texas. The internship offers hands-on experience supporting the Employee Benefits Finance Team, with exposure to financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Interns will also take part in educational workshops, rotate through different lines of business, give presentations, connect with industry experts and leaders, and attend community activities.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled or in pursuit of enrollment at a four-year institution.
• Enthusiasm, motivation, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and contribute.
• Applicants from any major or background are welcome.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience, preferably in a customer service or administrative role.
• Study in Finance, Accounting, or Actuarial Science; these are examples of majors pursued by previous interns.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation and monitoring of financial metrics related to revenue, sales operations, and business performance.
• Help prepare budget-to-actual comparisons and financial forecasts using prescribed systems.
• Participate in the annual budget planning process, including data aggregation and consolidation.
• Collaborate with internal leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and spend management.
• Prepare audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Participate in educational workshops and rotations through different lines of business.
• Give presentations and share learning with fellow interns and business leaders.
• Attend community activities.
