About The Position

A leading international law firm is seeking an Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising employers, private equity sponsors, public and private companies, and other organizations on sophisticated employee benefits, executive compensation, and ERISA matters.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of employee benefits, executive compensation, ERISA, or related tax experience
  • Experience advising employers and plan sponsors on qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation arrangements
  • Experience with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and related employee benefits regulations
  • Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions, private equity transactions, and other corporate transactions involving employee benefits and executive compensation matters
  • Experience drafting and reviewing employee benefit plans, deferred compensation arrangements, equity compensation plans, and related documentation
  • Experience counseling clients regarding employee benefits compliance, governance, and regulatory matters
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work directly with clients and provide practical, business-focused advice
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted
