About The Position

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Executive to join their team. MMA provides business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions. They combine the personalized service of a local consultant with the global resources of Marsh McLennan. This role is crucial for establishing and retaining strong client relationships, assisting Producers with prospect deliverables, and providing strategic employee benefits solutions to meet client needs and budget constraints. The Account Executive will also be responsible for preparing and delivering service plans, annual stewardship reports, and managing client communications regarding compliance and risk mitigation. The position requires a strong understanding of benefits technical knowledge, excellent organizational and presentation skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Requirements

  • Life and Health license required and maintained with continuing education and all or some parts of one or more professional designations
  • Ability to provide strong leadership, mentoring and training to other members of team
  • At least five years of direct related experience
  • Strong speaking and presentation skills
  • Flexibility and creativity for developing innovative and customized business solutions
  • Must be willing to travel as required
  • Ability to sell and/or influence decision making of others
  • Must have strong benefits technical knowledge, including an understanding of all forms of coverage and plan alternatives
  • Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail and follow through.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and retain strong relationships with assigned clients and assume the primary responsibility for client service needs and retention.
  • Assist Producers with deliverables for prospects, including but not limited to: plan design strategy, financial analysis, funding arrangement review, setting 3-5 year goals.
  • Participate in finalist presentations for prospects.
  • Provide plan design and financial solutions for our clients to meet their employee attraction and retention needs and budget constraints by analyzing their financial status and assisting to mitigate identified risks.
  • Prepare, deliver, and execute service plans and oversee team completion of assigned tasks.
  • Deliver to the clients our annual stewardship reports, mid-year/pre-renewal presentation, and monthly and/or quarterly experience reports (as applicable).
  • Coordinate with team manager, all service team needs to ensure items are complete and tasks are performed with quality and within required deliverable dates.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources including producer involvement, legal assistance, technology, claims, and wellness.
  • Attend client meetings with carrier representatives as applicable or as needed.
  • Accompany producer on and independently conduct periodic coverage reviews with clients.
  • Develop strategy and special handling instructions with carrier, vendor or TPA regarding claims and wellness services based on client needs and expectations.
  • Initiate and ensure execution of the marketing process including contribution to the marketing strategy, fielding underwriting questions, negotiating rates and coverages and presenting findings to client.
  • Participate in the analysis and comparison of rates/alternatives leading to the selection of those best meeting the needs of prospects and clients.
  • Design and oversee the preparation of presentations to clients to ensure the final product is impressive, polished and comprehensive in scope, representing all that is exceptional at Horton.
  • Responsible for understanding, strategically communicating to and educating the clients on ACA Reporting, COBRA, DOL Audits, ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA and other compliance issues as needed or required.
  • Meet or exceed all goals, especially those related to customized service plans, client satisfaction, book growth and retention.
  • Follow HBS procedures within Applied Epic.
  • Perform other duties as requested, including exercising discretion and judgment in prioritizing workload.
