Requirements

  • Life and Health license required and maintained with continuing education and all or some parts of one or more professional designations
  • Ability to provide strong leadership, mentoring, and training to other members of the team
  • At least five years of direct related experience
  • Strong speaking and presentation skills
  • Flexibility and creativity for developing innovative and customized business solutions
  • Must be willing to travel as required
  • Ability to sell and/or influence decision making of others
  • Must have strong benefits technical knowledge, including an understanding of all forms of coverage and plan alternatives
  • Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail and follow through
  • Sense of urgency and works well under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Establish and retain strong relationships with assigned clients, assuming primary responsibility for client service needs and retention.
  • Assist Producers with deliverables for prospects, including plan design strategy, financial analysis, funding arrangement review, and setting 3-5 year goals. Participate in finalist presentations.
  • Provide plan design and financial solutions to meet client employee attraction and retention needs and budget constraints by analyzing financial status and mitigating risks. This includes consultation on plan costs, funding options, compliance requirements, risk analysis, and communicating the Horton value proposition.
  • Prepare, deliver, and execute service plans, overseeing team completion of assigned tasks.
  • Deliver annual stewardship reports, mid-year/pre-renewal presentations, and monthly/quarterly experience reports to clients.
  • Coordinate with team manager and service team to ensure timely and quality completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, including producer involvement, legal assistance, technology, claims, and wellness.
  • Attend client meetings with carrier representatives as needed.
  • Accompany producers on and independently conduct periodic coverage reviews with clients.
  • Develop strategy and special handling instructions with carriers, vendors, or TPAs regarding claims and wellness services based on client needs.
  • Initiate and ensure execution of the marketing process, including contribution to marketing strategy, fielding underwriting questions, negotiating rates and coverages, and presenting findings to clients.
  • Participate in the analysis and comparison of rates/alternatives to select those best meeting prospect and client needs.
  • Design and oversee the preparation of client presentations to ensure they are impressive, polished, and comprehensive.
  • Understand, strategically communicate, and educate clients on ACA Reporting, COBRA, DOL Audits, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, and other compliance issues.
  • Meet or exceed goals related to customized service plans, client satisfaction, book growth, and retention.
  • Follow HBS procedures within Applied Epic.
  • Perform other duties as requested, exercising discretion and judgment in prioritizing workload.
