Emerging Store Manager - SC

Walmart•Goose Creek, SC
•$85,000 - $120,000

About The Position

The Emerging Store Manager (ESM) is a developmental leadership assignment that prepares associates for potential Store Manager opportunities in Walmart U.S. store operations. The role provides training and development across retail operations, people leadership, merchandising, financial management, customer experience, and community engagement. The assignment is expected to last no longer than 12 to 18 months, but has no guaranteed timeframe or guaranteed Store Manager placement. Associates are expected to maintain mobility within their assigned region for Store Manager applications and potential placement. If a Store Manager position is not secured within the expected timeframe, next steps will depend on performance and business needs and may include placement in another role at a different level. The ESM develops operational and financial management capabilities, supports sales and customer service, contributes to staffing and succession planning, and helps lead store managers and associates. The role also supports compliance, asset protection, safety, quality assurance, community engagement, and the execution of business plans. Progress is evaluated through developmental milestones and competency assessments. The position requires strong partnerships across the organization, including with Market Managers, Regional leadership, Merchandising, Human Resources, and Asset Protection. The annual salary range is $85,000 to $120,000. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses; certain positions may also receive Regional Pay Zone or Complex Structure compensation.
