About The Position

The Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of Northwest Arkansas is a well-established, growing emergency and critical care practice and the only after-hours facility in the Northwest Arkansas area. The practice serves a large pool of referring veterinarians and has a friendly, highly skilled, motivated, and fun-loving staff. Its equipment includes digital radiography, large touch-screen monitors in client rooms, ultrasound, in-house IDEXX laboratories, and a ForceTriad electrosurgical system.

The full-time veterinarian will work a combination of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Scheduling is flexible, with reasonable accommodation for requests. The practice is remarkably busy, so the role requires the ability to handle high-stress situations, multitask, and communicate well. The veterinarian will provide general medicine and surgery and will have medical autonomy, access to a DVM mentor network, and opportunities for future ownership.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.
• Current DEA license or ability to obtain one upon hire.
• Active veterinary state license.
• USDA accreditation or ability to obtain it upon hire.
• Compassionate, team-oriented, and a strong communicator.
• Proficiency in general medicine and surgery.
