About The Position

Veterinary Emergency, Critical Care & Referral Center (VECC) is seeking a part-time emergency veterinarian to care for dogs and cats in a 24/7 emergency and referral hospital serving New Hampshire’s Seacoast, northern Massachusetts, and southern Maine. The hospital offers emergency and critical care alongside internal medicine, surgery, cardiology, and ultrasound, with specialty capabilities including endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery. The position involves six shifts per month, scheduled from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7 a.m. on rotating days rather than a fixed weekly schedule. There is no on-call requirement. The practice has a high-volume caseload, one ER veterinarian per shift, 14 credentialed technicians, and six assistants. Specialist schedules overlap ER shifts to support collaboration, and an internist supports ultrasounds. An on-call surgeon is available for more advanced surgical cases. VECC is part of Community Veterinary Partners, combining a local hospital identity with access to a broader network of veterinary colleagues and resources. The veterinarian retains clinical autonomy, with CVP support for professional growth. Compensation can be hourly or salaried, with monthly production and no negative accrual; sign-on bonuses are tailored to commitment, and relocation assistance is available.
