About The Position

Horizon Veterinary Specialists is seeking a knowledgeable, eager Emergency Veterinarian to join its Emergency & Critical Care Team in Ventura, California. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency and critical care for small animals, including walk-in emergencies and referrals. The veterinarian will work in a fast-paced, multi-doctor environment and may pursue emergency surgery and other areas of veterinary medicine. The role calls for a positive attitude, confidence, attention to detail, diligence, and compassionate communication with patients and clients. Doctors collaborate and consult on cases, with daily rounds and access to internal medicine services six days a week.

Compensation is $155,000–$175,000, depending on experience and qualifications, with guaranteed salary without negative accrual and additional production-based pay. The schedule is flexible, and the hospital encourages rest and time off.

Requirements

• DVM degree from an accredited veterinary school.
• Valid veterinary license to practice in California.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to client education.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-doctor environment.
