About The Position

Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) is a growing group of emergency veterinary hospitals with six locations across the Midwest. Our mission is to expand into and support communities that need 24/7 emergency care. EVCC is a veterinarian-led company that values the insight and leadership of our DVMs. We are committed to delivering exceptional, around-the-clock care. This position is part of a structured mentorship program designed for newly graduated veterinarians transitioning into emergency veterinary medicine. The goal is to help build confidence, develop critical ER skills, and provide full support during professional growth. The program offers continuing education opportunities, promotion possibilities, and a supportive work environment. The Holland location seeks skilled, friendly, and energetic newly graduated Emergency Veterinarians. The mentorship experience is personalized to the individual's learning style, pace, and professional goals, with flexible timelines and workflows. The program includes hands-on guidance, case discussions, foundational ER skills, collaborative shifts with other associate DVMs, and a mix of solo and overlapping shifts to develop independence. Support is available from veterinarians at other EVCC locations during solo shifts. Progression decisions are made collaboratively between the mentee and mentor.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AVMA accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program
  • Possesses state veterinary license in good standing or eligible to obtain one
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly on your feet
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and compassionate "bedside" manner, building trust and strong relationships with clients–both human and furry alike

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency veterinary medicine in the area.
  • Participate in hands-on guidance, case discussions, and foundational ER skills development.
  • Collaborate with other associate DVMs during overlapping shifts.
  • Develop independence through a mix of solo and overlapping shifts.
  • Utilize real-time support from veterinarians at other EVCC locations during solo shifts.
