About The Position
VCA Colonial Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to complement our talented team in Ithaca, New York. Our practice offers a blend of general medicine and specialty services, including surgery, oncology, internal medicine, and radiology. The hospital is a 16,000 square foot facility equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, an in-house laboratory, and CT. We are a 17-doctor practice with a support team of over 40 Licensed Technicians and Assistants, operating seven days a week with 24-hour hospitalized patient care. The veterinary team is collaborative and supportive.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine.
- Experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in utilizing diagnostic equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in specialty services such as surgery, oncology, internal medicine, or radiology.
- Experience working in a large, well-equipped hospital.
- Mentorship experience or desire to mentor.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency veterinary care.
- Work collaboratively with a team of veterinarians and support staff.
- Manage hospitalized patients requiring 24-hour care.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, in-house laboratory, and CT.
- Contribute to a practice that offers both general medicine and specialty services.
