About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Richmond, VA, formerly known as Dogwood Veterinary Center, is hiring Emergency Veterinarians. Our pet hospital serves central Virginia communities such as Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and Petersburg providing specialty and emergency services. When pets need emergency care, seconds count. And if a veterinary specialist is needed, we are ready for that too. Join our experienced team of veterinarians, vet technicians and support staff who work closely together to provide the comprehensive, compassionate care that pet needs and deserve. Our 20,000-square-foot hospital underwent a full remodel of the ICU and reception entrance completed in summer 2022. The remodel of the ICU now houses a brand-new CT (64 slice). The hospital also houses an on-site MRI and a full complement of orthopedic, laparoscopic, thoracoscopy, and arthroscopic surgical equipment. Our internal medicine service with state-of-the-art endoscopy, ultrasound, and complete ancillary radiographic diagnostic capabilities.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Virginia.
- Experience in emergency veterinary medicine.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with diagnostic and surgical equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with specialty services.
- Familiarity with CT, MRI, endoscopy, and ultrasound.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate emergency and specialty care for pets.
- Work closely with a team of veterinarians, vet technicians, and support staff.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment, including CT, MRI, endoscopy, ultrasound, and various laparoscopic/thoracoscopic/arthroscopic tools.
