About The Position

MedVet Austin is hiring a full-time Emergency Veterinarian and ER Department Head for its 24/7 Emergency and Multi-Specialty hospital. An experienced emergency clinician will divide their time between clinical work, approximately 10–12 shifts per month, and leadership of the ER team. The role works collaboratively with the Medical Director and specialty departments to support patient care, department operations, strategic growth, and the development of engaged caregivers. The hospital provides advanced emergency and specialty services, modern equipment, an experienced clinical team, and access to MedVet's national network of specialists and collaborative resources. The position offers an excellent compensation and benefits package, including a signing bonus.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience as an emergency clinician.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culture that supports the development of engaged and empowered caregivers.
• Work collaboratively with the Medical Director to oversee Emergency Services within the hospital.
• Serve as a liaison between Emergency Services and specialty departments to ensure seamless case management and patient care.
• Support the Medical Director in the strategic growth and daily operations of the ER department.
• Participate in ER doctor recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and training.
• Create and maintain the ER doctor schedule.
• Help provide an exceptional referral partner experience and assist with resolving client concerns.
