About The Position

The ER Technician/Health Unit Coordinator works in the Emergency Department at Upper Valley Medical Center. As an ER Technician, the role works under the direction of an RN or LPN as part of the health care team to assist with patient care activities. Delegated tasks must be in accordance with the Ohio Board of Nursing requirements set by Premier Health. As a Health Unit Coordinator, the role coordinates the nursing unit’s day-to-day clerical activities. The position directly or indirectly impacts patient outcomes and the care provided to patients, families, and significant others.

Requirements

• High school completion or GED.
• Current CPR certification required at the time of hire.
• Successful completion of at least one of the following: a nurse’s aide training course within the last twelve months; patient care experience within the last six months; currently enrolled in nursing school with completion of core nursing classes; six months of experience within a Premier acute care setting; or EMT Basic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN, performing delegated tasks in accordance with Ohio Board of Nursing requirements set by Premier Health.
• Coordinate the day-to-day clerical activities of the nursing unit.
