About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute illness, injury, mental health crises, or trauma in a collaborative team environment. The role is onsite at 600 Roe Ave, Elmira, NY 14905, and works night shifts with weekend and holiday rotation. The standard pay rate is $43.70–$53.20 per hour, plus benefits. Qualified RNs may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000.

Requirements

Current New York State nursing licensure, a limited permit, or eligibility for licensure.
BLS and ACLS certifications are required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Appreciable physical effort is required, including lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving patients of various sizes and abilities; some lifting, reaching, and stooping; and spending much of the time on one's feet.
The role involves Category I tasks with exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Nice To Haves

Strong clinical thinking and communication skills.
Previous critical care experience.

Responsibilities

Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity.
Provide emergency nursing care, including medication administration, IV therapy, and cardiac monitoring.
Accurately document patient care in the electronic health record.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.
Work with other interdisciplinary teams.
