About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment at Mercyhealth Hospital in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The position is in the Emergency Room and offers day shifts of 6 a.m.–6 p.m. or 8 a.m.–8 p.m., for 36 hours. Rotating weekends are required; holiday coverage is not required.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a relevant nursing role.
• Current Wisconsin RN licensure.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – AHA Provider Level.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification – AHA Provider Level.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Certification – AHA Provider Level.
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TNS (Trauma Nursing Specialist).
• Education verification is required.
• Rotating weekends are required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in delivering patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and procedures.
• Document patient care according to established standards.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, plan interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Develop, implement, and execute individualized patient plans of care in collaboration with physicians and clinic policies, including providing instruction to patients and families.
• Engage in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance initiatives.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other departments in support of ongoing patient care.
• Employ critical thinking in relation to patient safety and experience, and appropriately escalate concerns to the chain of command.
• Participate in professional nursing activities, unit practice initiatives, and peer review processes.
