About The Position

Mercyhealth is seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a critical access hospital setting. The nurse provides high-quality care in emergency situations and adapts to a challenging work environment. Registered Nurses may be required to float to other locations within the region as needed. The position is scheduled for the night shift, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage. Holiday coverage includes Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.

Requirements

At least 2 years of nursing experience.
Active Illinois RN licensure.
PALS certification.
BLS/BCLS certification.
ACLS certification.
TNCC certification.
NIHSS certification.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.

Responsibilities

Use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and state laws.
Document care in accordance with clinical standards.
Conduct assessments, plan interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care.
Develop, implement, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians or clinic policy, including providing instruction to patients and families.
Engage in department performance improvement activities and may participate in shared governance.
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patients’ ongoing care plans across departments.
Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating issues as appropriate.
Participate in professional nursing activities, including peer review and unit practice decisions.
Provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage, including Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.
Float to other locations within the region as needed.
