About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for an Emergency Medicine Physician in Winchester, VA. The role involves providing clinical coverage in the Emergency Room of a 495-bed regional referral facility. The physician will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients of all ages, performing emergency stabilization and procedures, and documenting encounters in the Epic EMR system. Collaboration with ED staff and ancillary services, as well as maintaining compliance with facility credentialing, are key aspects of the role.
Requirements
- Active unrestricted state medical license required
- ABEM Board Certified required
- DEA: Active DEA required
- Emergency Medicine experience required
- SCP approved for IMLC as of 05/15/2026
- Hospital Privileges Required
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical evaluation and treatment to patients of all ages
- Perform emergency stabilization and emergency procedures as needed
- Document patient encounters accurately within Epic EMR
- Collaborate with Emergency Department staff and ancillary services
- Maintain compliance with facility credentialing requirements across all Valley Health sites
