About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position providing emergency medicine coverage in Lebanon, VA. The role involves clinical duties only within a hospital setting, covering both day and night shifts. The physician will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating adult and geriatric patients in the emergency department, collaborating with a tele-support team for admissions and floor call, and supervising nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EMR system is required.

Requirements

• Active unrestricted VA Medical License
• BC in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
• Active DEA with VA address and applicable schedules
• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not BC in EM or EM trained
• NRP required for non-ABEM providers
• Graduate of accredited MD or DO program
• Completion of ACGME/AOA approved residency in EM, FM, or IM
• ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates
• Case logs required for the last two years
• Required to supervise NP and PA providers

Nice To Haves

• EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered
• 3-month proctorship required for new graduates
• Telehealth experience not required

Responsibilities
