About The Position
The Atlantic Mobile Health Department is offering a paid, 12-week, full-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Trainee Program. This program provides comprehensive classroom and field training to prepare candidates for EMT certification and immediate transition into full-time EMT roles within Atlantic Health. The program starts on June 22, 2026, and offers an hourly training rate of $19.24. Participants will earn while they learn, gain hands-on experience with experienced professionals on a state-of-the-art fleet, and have a clear career path into full-time EMT positions.
Requirements
- Eligibility for National EMT certification upon program completion.
- Extensive real-world field experience.
- Professional development in emergency communication and teamwork.
- Exposure to emergency medicine, critical care, and hospital operations.
- A foundation for future careers in paramedicine, nursing, or emergency leadership.
Responsibilities
- Providing pre-hospital care to sick or injured patients.
- Performing inter-facility medical transportation.
- Assisting in emergency scenarios.
- Respond to 911 calls and support local first aid squads.
- Transport patients to and from hospitals and specialty centers.
- Assist MICU and paramedic teams during high-acuity cases.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and hospital staff.
- Engage in community outreach and safety initiatives.
