About The Position

Assist Ambulance is seeking certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in New York State for full-time and part-time positions at their Bronx base. Assist Ambulance is a New York City EMS agency with 30 years of experience providing BLS and ALS emergency medical and transportation services across the five boroughs. They serve various healthcare facilities, including hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor's offices, offering both emergency and non-emergency transports. EMTs must adhere to guidelines from the Department of Health - Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems, and Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of NYC protocols for Basic Life Support.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an active NY State EMT-B card (NREMT card alone is not accepted).
• EMTs hired as drivers must be at least 20 years old with 1 year of driving experience in New York City.
• Must have a valid New York State D Class driver’s license with no more than 6 points or 2 major moving violations.
• DJ licenses are not accepted.
• Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs. and pass a lifting assessment.
• Must be able to get 19A physical clearance and negative PPD test.
• Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug screening.
• Must be able to commit to at least two 8-hour shifts per week (steady shifts).
• Must be good with people.

• Potential to transition to 911 with One Brooklyn Health at Interfaith Medical Center after ~6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Follow guidelines from the Department of Health - Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems.
• Adhere to Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of NYC protocols for Basic Life Support.
• Act responsibly under extreme duress.
• Participate in driving assessments.
• Attend three days of in-person pre-hire assessments.
