About The Position

Wilson Community College is seeking an EMS Program Coordinator to assist with the day-to-day operation of the EMS program. Responsibilities will include supporting instructors; recruiting and advising students; coordinating course materials and records; developing instructional and simulation activities; and scheduling continuing education for area fire and EMS agencies. The coordinator may also provide classroom or laboratory instruction as needed and within the scope of current credentials.

Requirements

  • Active North Carolina Paramedic Certification.
  • Level 1 Paramedic Instructor Certification.
  • Relevant EMS field experience and instructional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Level 2 Paramedic Instructor Certification or aspiring to become a Level 2 Paramedic Instructor.
  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Instruction and coordination experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate course schedules, instructors, classrooms, equipment, supplies, and instructional resources for assigned EMS courses.
  • Provide day-to-day support to EMS instructors and assist them with course materials, classroom technology, and required documentation.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, classroom activities, laboratory activities, and simulation scenarios.
  • Monitor attendance, grades, student progress, and skills documentation.
  • Advise prospective and enrolled students regarding registration, program requirements, course progression, testing, and credentialing.
  • Assist with recruiting, orienting, advising, and retaining EMS students.
  • Coordinate continuing education for area fire departments and EMS agencies, including scheduling courses, instructors, locations, and equipment.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Assist with program reviews, annual program goals and outcomes, and required EMS program documentation.
  • Provide classroom or laboratory instruction as needed and consistent with current credentials.
  • Work under the direction of the EMS Program Director to carry out assigned course operations, instruction support, student services and continuing education activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
