Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and student-focused professional to serve as our Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS). This position provides leadership and oversight for the College’s EMS programs, including EMS In-Service, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Paramedic, and the EMS Bridge Associate Degree program. Reporting to the Dean of Health and Public Services, the EMS Director oversees training, clinical rotations, certifications, instructor support, and student advising while helping ensure WPCC’s EMS programs meet applicable certification and accreditation requirements. The Director also leads the College’s efforts related to the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP) accreditation process. This position works closely with the College’s Medical Director, EMS instructors, students, healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, and community partners to provide high-quality EMS education and develop learning opportunities that respond to the needs of emergency medical personnel, employers, and the communities we serve.
