About The Position

The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) provides direct patient care to patients and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role provides care to patients of various ages and performs waived and moderately complex point-of-care testing and related quality activities according to protocols and procedures. The ED Tech obtains blood samples from patients and transports samples and other potentially biohazardous specimens for point-of-care testing. This position is for Overlake's new off-campus emergency department in Lynnwood, which will provide 24/7 emergency-department-level care in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Health Care Provider CPR certification required upon hire.
• Upon hire, hold one of the following active Washington State credentials: Nursing Assistant-Certified (NAC), Nursing Assistant Registration (NAR), or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P). The posting states that one of the remaining licenses must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of recent experience in a health care setting involving patient contact is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EKG.
• Computer familiarity.
• Knowledge and handling of hospital equipment and record keeping.

Responsibilities
