About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. The Embedded Software Engineer will design, develop, implement, and integrate embedded software supporting advanced missile programs. This role will focus on embedded C++ development, embedded software drivers, TCP/IP networking, Data Distribution Service technologies, hardware integration, and software verification in support of missile subsystem and flight-testing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 11+ years of relevant professional experience, or a master’s degree with 9+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance with the most recent investigation completed within the past five years.
  • Proficiency in embedded C++ programming.
  • Experience developing, modifying, or integrating embedded software drivers.
  • Experience with TCP/IP networking and communication protocols.
  • Experience with the Data Distribution Service standard.
  • Experience analyzing software, system, and subsystem requirements.
  • Experience developing embedded software architecture and detailed designs.
  • Experience implementing and integrating embedded software on target hardware.
  • Ability to troubleshoot embedded software and hardware-integration issues.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Grand Prairie, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain embedded software for missile programs.
  • Analyze program, system, subsystem, and software requirements.
  • Develop embedded software architectures and detailed designs.
  • Develop embedded software using C++.
  • Design, develop, modify, and integrate embedded software drivers.
  • Implement embedded software using TCP/IP networking technologies.
  • Develop and integrate software using Data Distribution Service standards.
  • Deploy and integrate embedded software on target hardware platforms.
  • Troubleshoot software, driver, networking, and hardware-integration issues.
  • Perform software integration and verification activities.
  • Support bare-metal software development when required.
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, integration, and test engineering teams.
  • Support missile subsystem testing and preparations for flight-test activities.
  • Document technical designs, test procedures, verification results, and issue resolutions.
