About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Automated Test Software Engineer in Littleton, Colorado for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop and modernize software supporting automated test equipment and electrical ground support systems. The engineer will work with software, systems, electrical, and test engineering teams to improve test-system efficiency, automation, security, and scalability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering or software development experience.
  • Programming experience with one or more of the following: C/C++, LabVIEW, Python, Java, or TestStand.
  • Experience designing software for automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Fundamental Python scripting experience.
  • Experience with product lifecycle activities including design, development, and deployment.
  • Experience using issue-tracking and/or product-lifecycle management systems.
  • Experience developing, testing, debugging, and documenting software.
  • Ability to work effectively with software, systems, electrical, and test engineering teams.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required prior to starting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, and integrating software on hardware test systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting interactions between software and hardware, including network devices and laboratory instrumentation.
  • Automated Test Equipment development experience using LabVIEW, C/C++, and/or Python.
  • Experience with Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE).
  • Experience supporting aerospace or defense communications systems.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian products and development processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, debug, document, and maintain software supporting automated test and ground-support systems.
  • Support modernization initiatives focused on increased automation, security, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Develop and integrate software used with hardware-based test systems.
  • Create and maintain software using languages and tools such as C/C++, LabVIEW, Python, Java, and TestStand.
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, network-device, and laboratory-instrumentation interactions.
  • Apply established software-development standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Correct software defects and resolve system-level issues.
  • Develop technical documentation and operating instructions.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, electrical, and test engineers in an Agile development environment.
  • Coordinate with technical and product leadership to support program and test-system needs.
  • Support software integration, verification, deployment, and continuous improvement activities.
