About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer in Grand Prairie, TX for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. The Embedded Software Engineer will design, develop, and implement real-time embedded software using C++ in a Linux environment. This role includes analyzing algorithm descriptions, reviewing existing software code, identifying architectural changes, and supporting the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis through integration, acceptance test, and delivery.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with most recent investigation within the last 5 years.
  • Real-time embedded software development experience using C++.
  • Linux experience.
  • Experience with software and hardware integration and test.
  • Experience analyzing requirements and supporting software development through integration, acceptance test, and delivery.
  • Ability to analyze algorithm descriptions from systems engineering.
  • Ability to review existing software code and determine needed architectural software changes.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of RTI Data Distribution Services publish/subscribe communication protocol.
  • CORBA experience.
  • Experience developing with CMake.
  • Familiarity with embedded real-time Ada programming.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined engineering teams.
  • GitLab CI/CD pipeline experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement embedded software.
  • Develop software using Agile methodology.
  • Analyze system engineering algorithm descriptions and existing software code.
  • Determine software architecture changes needed to support requirements.
  • Develop C++ software for Linux/Rocky targets.
  • Support development from Linux/Rocky and Windows host environments.
  • Support software development from requirements analysis through integration, acceptance test, and delivery.
  • Integrate and test software with hardware.
  • Work with multi-disciplined teams to support embedded software development.
