About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Embedded Software Engineer in Camarillo, California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will develop embedded real-time software supporting advanced military electronic warfare systems. The engineer will work as part of an Agile software team to develop, integrate, troubleshoot, and maintain mission-critical software while collaborating with customers and cross-functional engineering organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing software using a higher-order programming language such as Ada, C, C++, or C#.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented software development principles.
  • Experience with embedded and/or real-time software development.
  • Experience using version-control and configuration-management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or ClearCase.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an integrated engineering team.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher required; Interim Secret is acceptable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting the full software development lifecycle on a large-scale Department of Defense program.
  • Strong Ada programming experience.
  • Strong C++ programming experience.
  • Experience developing real-time embedded software.
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum development environment.
  • Electronic Warfare system development or design experience.
  • Experience with tools such as Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, DOORS, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience with Green Hills INTEGRITY RTOS, Windows, and Linux.
  • Python development experience.
  • Strong verbal communication, customer-service, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded real-time system software for advanced military electronic warfare platforms.
  • Design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and maintain software components.
  • Resolve software and system defects.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum development activities.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, and other technical organizations.
  • Participate in peer reviews, milestone reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
  • Develop software using languages such as Ada, C/C++, C#, and Python.
  • Work with real-time operating systems, Windows, and Linux environments.
  • Use requirements, configuration-management, and development tools including DOORS, Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, ClearCase, and ClearQuest.
  • Support software integration, verification, and technical documentation activities.
