About The Position

We're a DTC retention and lifecycle marketing agency running email and SMS programs for exciting, rapidly scaling brands. We need a copywriter who thinks visually and writes strategically. This is not a direct response copywriting role. We build designed, branded email experiences for DTC ecommerce brands, where the copy and design must work together to further the brand vision.

Requirements

  • Ability to analyze and critique emails from both a copy and design standpoint.
  • Write with the final visual layout in mind, thinking in sections and modules.
  • Understand how copy length, headline weight, CTA placement, and image-to-text ratio affect performance.
  • Adapt to distinct brand voices without producing AI-like output.
  • Consider the reader's mindset at each touchpoint.
  • Understand DTC fundamentals: product education, social proof, urgency, cross-sell, subscription conversion, and know when to apply them.
  • Articulate copy decisions and the reasoning behind them.
  • Email Marketing copywriting experience for 8 or 9 figure DTC brands.

Nice To Haves

  • Klaviyo experience (flows, campaigns, dynamic content, Liquid basics).
  • Ability to concept email layouts alongside copy, even as rough wireframes or annotated briefs.
  • Experience working with designers or handing off structured copy that maps to visual modules.
  • Experience using AI tools to work faster, ideate, draft, or scale output, while ensuring the final product does not read or feel like AI output.

Responsibilities

  • Write flow and campaign copy for brands across skincare, apparel, CPG, and wellness.
  • Create copy for welcome sequences, post-purchase flows, winbacks, abandon flows, campaign calendars, and promotional sends.
  • Ensure copy works effectively within designed email layouts, considering imagery, whitespace, module structure, and visual hierarchy.
