About The Position

Melanin Money is seeking an Email Marketing & Client Engagement Manager to execute and optimize lifecycle communication across our growing ecosystem of memberships, programs, events, and community experiences. This role will play a key part in how we nurture, engage, retain, and communicate with our audience through thoughtful email marketing, CRM automation, and relationship-centered customer communication. This role sits at the intersection of email marketing, customer engagement, lifecycle communication, retention, and client experience. We are looking for someone who combines the technical execution skills of an email/lifecycle marketer with the emotional intelligence and customer-centered mindset of someone experienced in client engagement or customer success. This is a highly collaborative, execution-focused role ideal for someone who understands lifecycle marketing and customer communication strategy, but is most energized by bringing campaigns, automations, and customer engagement initiatives to life through strong execution, thoughtful messaging, and continuous optimization. This is not a traditional acquisition marketing role focused on paid ads or aggressive sales tactics. Instead, this role focuses on nurturing engagement, strengthening retention, supporting customer conversion journeys, and helping our clients feel informed, connected, and supported throughout their experience with Melanin Money.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM marketing, client communications, customer engagement, or related fields
  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot or similar CRM/email marketing platforms
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience building automations, segmentation, and nurture campaigns
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to balance business goals with relationship-centered communication

Responsibilities

  • Write, execute, and manage lifecycle email campaigns within HubSpot across onboarding, nurture, engagement, retention, renewal, and customer ascension journeys
  • Write compelling email and SMS copy that aligns with Melanin Money's brand voice while driving engagement, customer connection, and lifecycle progression
  • Build and maintain automated nurture sequences, onboarding flows, renewal campaigns, engagement campaigns, and customer communication automations
  • Manage audience segmentation, CRM automations, communication scheduling, and lifecycle communication workflows
  • Support customer engagement across email, SMS, and community platforms through thoughtful, intentional communication
  • Help guide free community members toward deeper engagement, paid offerings, and customer conversion through nurture-based communication strategies
  • Maintain communication calendars and proactively improve customer journey touchpoints across multiple audience segments
  • Track campaign performance metrics, conduct A/B testing, and optimize communication effectiveness based on audience behavior and engagement data
  • Review and quality assure all outgoing communication for clarity, tone, accuracy, functionality, and alignment with the Melanin Money brand
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Client Success and Community teams to ensure communication remains cohesive, engaging, and customer-centered
