Eligibility Technician I, II, III

Delta County Colorado•Delta, CO
•$21 - $23•Onsite

About The Position

The Eligibility Technician receives information and conducts interviews to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for public assistance programs. The position enters client information into complex computer systems, analyzes information under multiple assistance programs and related regulations, refers clients to internal and external resources, and documents client interactions and casework clearly and accurately. The position has three tiers with increasing responsibility, experience, and independence. Level I performs routine tasks and develops specialized skills under close supervision. Level II applies intermediate job knowledge, handles some non-routine work, and makes decisions within the area of responsibility under general supervision. Level III handles work ranging from routine to complex, applies a full range of specialized skills, may serve as a lead, and works under intermittent supervision. The primary work location is the designated Delta County office. Employees are expected to perform most assigned duties—generally 95%—at that location, except when duties require work off site, unless an alternative arrangement has prior written approval. Consistent punctuality and attendance are required. In the event of a local disaster declaration, employees may be called upon to serve as disaster service workers.
