Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 years of experience in insurance eligibility verification, preferably in dermatology care or related healthcare fields.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and insurance verification tools.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish to serve Miami’s diverse patient population.
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans in Florida.
Previous experience in wound care or similar healthcare departments.

Responsibilities

Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage for wound care treatments with various insurance providers.
Communicate effectively with insurance companies, patients, and clinical staff to resolve coverage issues.
Maintain accurate records of insurance verifications, denials, and approvals in compliance with departmental protocols.
Stay up-to-date with insurance policies, regulations, and procedures, particularly those specific to Florida and Miami.
Provide support to patients and families regarding coverage questions and financial options.
Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to prevent delays in claims submission or payment processing.
