About The Position

The Licensed Elevator Mechanic position works directly under the leadership of the General Manager and in collaboration with the Project Manager and Sales team to execute timely installations and service/repair that comply with state code regulations. The Elevator Mechanic serves as lead installer and mentor/trainer for junior team members. A successful Elevator Mechanic will possess excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. This individual will also possess the ability to work independently and solve problems. Requirements

  • Licensed Elevator Mechanic.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct elevator installation experience.
  • Working knowledge of the most current Home Access & Elevator technology and products in the industry.
  • Hands on experience leading elevator installations.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Must maintain state issued elevator mechanic’s license and is responsible for renewing mechanic’s license as required by the state.
  • Must keep current with national and state code requirements.
  • Must maintain a valid state issued driver’s license and ability to operate company issued commercial vehicle with trailer.
  • Meet requirements to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card to allow heavy equipment transportation.
  • Serves as the primary installer for all commercial and residential elevators and lifts.
  • Is responsible for attending all state site inspections and ensuring that installations meet all requirements to pass inspection.
  • Is responsible for providing routine and preventative service and maintenance for commercial and residential elevators and lifts.
  • Collaborate with the project manager, contractor/property owner to ensure installations align with manufacturer drawings and outlined scope of work.
  • Keeps the Project Manager informed of job status, projected timelines, and installation or product issues. Proactively collaborates with the PM and Manufacturer to solve problems.
  • Mentors and trains junior technicians/installers. Provide on-site guidance, training, and hands-on experience required to qualify for state licensure.
  • Remains knowledgeable and up to date on product, code, and compliance changes and developments in the Home Access and Elevator industry.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor with all internal and external interactions.
  • Must maintain regular and predictable attendance.
