About The Position

Residential Elevators is hiring a full-time, paid Elevator Mechanic Apprentice in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. The apprentice program is intended for people starting a long-term career in the skilled trades. Apprentices receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced elevator mechanics while learning to install and service custom residential elevators. Most apprentices are promoted within 12–18 months to Service Technician or Installation Mechanic, with post-promotion earning potential of $60,000–$90,000 or more. The work is on the road and involves travel, mostly regional travel from Virginia Beach, Virginia, with travel required up to 90%.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 90%, mostly regionally from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and perform hard physical work.
Comfort working at heights, on ladders, and in tight spaces.
Knowledge of safe hand-tool use.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in construction, electrical, mechanical, or elevator industries.
