About The Position

This position is for an Elementary Teacher Pool for the 27-28 School Year at ORANGE GROVE ELEMENTARY. The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering instruction to meet the needs of all students, establishing clear instructional objectives aligned to grade-level standards, and creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. The teacher will provide differentiated instruction, monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, utilize instructional technology, and provide direct instruction in various skills. Collaboration with instructional assistants and staff, participation in professional development, and fostering positive communication with parents are also key aspects of the role. The position reports to the Building Principal or other appropriate School Administrator and is a 190-day, Exempt FLSA term of employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification as required by the state of South Carolina in Elementary Education
  • Other professional and personal qualifications deemed necessary to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction designed to meet the needs of all students.
  • Establish and communicate clear instructional objectives aligned to grade-level standards and individualized student goals.
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide differentiated instruction using a variety of evidence-based teaching strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and collect data to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and interventions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and complete education records, progress reports, and any other documentation.
  • Utilize instructional technology and resources to support student learning and accessibility.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, social, communication, and functional skills as appropriate.
  • Monitor and support student achievement in all educational settings.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Supervise and collaborate with instructional assistants, paraprofessionals, and support staff as assigned.
  • Participate in school, department, and school-based meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Stay current on best practices, legal requirements, and developments in education.
  • Cooperate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school's educational program.
  • Foster positive and effective communication with parents and guardians.
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.
