About The Position
Match Charter Public School is seeking an Elementary School English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for an immediate start. This position is based at Match Community Day, located at 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park, MA. The role involves teaching language and supporting multilingual students, providing co-teaching, instructional, and inclusion support in general education classes, and delivering targeted language interventions in small groups. The teacher will use ELD levels and formative assessments to drive instruction and achieve language acquisition goals. Additionally, the role includes managing the school’s language acquisition programming, such as paperwork, teacher professional development, parent and student communication, student testing/screening, and ensuring compliance with Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements. Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing PreK-12 school in Boston serving up to 1,250 students, with a mission to prepare students, particularly multilingual learners and first-generation college aspirants, for success in college and careers. Requirements
- Valid ESL license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education by date of hire
- Current US work authorization
Responsibilities
- Providing co-teaching, instructional and inclusion support in general education classes with multilingual learners
- Providing targeted language interventions to multilingual students in a small group setting
- Using ELD levels and other formative assessments to drive instruction and achieve language acquisition goals
- Helping to manage the school’s language acquisition programming including, but not limited to: completion of necessary paperwork and filing, teacher professional development, management of parent and student communication, administration of student testing/screening, and upholding applicable Department of Elementary and Secondary Education compliance requirements
